Fuji Finepix A360 is a small light weight camera. It is very handy for outdoor sessions such as taking pictures of weddings, wildlife and landscapes. It is easy to use and for starter photographers it is also easy to learn how to use it. Clear and simple instructions are presented in the manual. The software can be found in the internet. Downloading it is easy. It is provided with a large LCD screen which brings out very good displays.

It is a 5.2 Mega pixel camera. It is fitted with an XD memory card. The camera can be used to take video pictures. The length of the video depends on the size of the memory card. The bigger the size of the memory card the longer the video. It is fitted with 4.1x Digital Zoom and 3x Optical Zoom.

If one can manage to keep the camera still while taking pictures the picture come out very clear and it is not difficult to remove redeye. A very slight shaking will result in blurred pictures. It is therefore best to use with a stand.

It takes nice video pictures but the sound is not good at all as it is accompanied with background noise and echoes.

The lens has a problem of jamming and refusing to open. Sometimes it will not open at all. When jammed it gives the reading “zoom error”. Cleaning it will not solve the problem.

The biggest drawback of Fuji Finepix A360 camera is that it uses up the battery power too fast. It takes only a few minutes of use and the power is gone. One has to buy and carry a couple extra rechargeable batteries when intending to use the camera.

The zoom error is particularly annoying and embarrassing. It sometime comes when one is in the middle of taking a picture and is forced to stop, switch off the camera and put it on again. Imagine you are in Kenya's Masai Mara Game Reserve and has just located a pack of lions. For 3 days you have been searching for lions without success. This is now a perfect opportunity to take a photograph. One takes out the camera and prepares to take a picture and jest then the ‘zoom error” appears on the screen. By the time the camera is switched on again the lions shall have disappeared into the nearby bush. This is a problem that Fuji has to look into and correct in the next model.
